One issue we’ve found many of our clients still operating worrying about right now is marketing your small business from home. How can you let customers know that you’re still around? We know how to help. Here are our four tips for any small business looking to market themselves from their own home. This reviews a case, but we cover how to develop marketing strategy for small business at length.
Marketing plans are essential, during COVID and during ordinary times. If you don’t have a marketing plan in place that takes all of your company’s talent into consideration, you are wasting potential. Right now, you just might need to edit that marketing plan for the situation.
Make sure that you know the marketing objectives and goals that you need to hit, and check that you have the abilities to achieve it. Currently, you might not have your company’s full resources, or some of your staff or companies you work with will be out of work. Know your limits, and know what you can achieve from home when it comes to marketing your company.
Making an ideal marketing budget for yourself during the Coronavirus chaos is really important, especially knowing what your company needs. But something else that you need to budget is your time. If you’re marketing your small business alone from your home, then there is a good chance you have other responsibilities as well. Make sure that you are spending the proper amount of time on your business’s marketing.
For example, ProStrategix has a pair of employees dealing with marketing right now, but they have other responsibilities as well. With so much going on, these two have other responsibilities as well. So, as we work from home, we’ve been in a lot more communication. We’ve also kept ourselves to a schedule that allows us to do things on a timetable that works for everyone.
Inbound marketing is special. It is a means of drawing customers into your company through the use of search engine optimization and branding. This can come from writing posts (like these) on your own website or from working with other companies to build joint connections. Make sure you know the differences between social media and inbound marketing, but both of these forms of communication can be achieved from home.
Our final piece of advice for this COVID mess is that you should make sure you know what to spend and what to save. Now is probably not the time to instill a massive marketing campaign. So know how to spend the money you can without waste. Make your current customers your best marketing by giving incentives to people who refer new customers. Work with other businesses that can help you all mutually. And remember that you only need to operate within your own means for now. Everyone is in a tough spot, so be cautious. We have some additional strategies for entrepreneurs and small businesses on other posts.
